M1 was the first mobile operator in Singapore to offer High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) in December 2006 when it launched 'M1 Broadband'-Singapore's first true island-wide wireless broadband service. With the completion of an extensive upgrade of the M1 HSPA network in November 2008, it also became the first operator in Singapore and Asia to go 'live' with nationwide downlink speed of 14.4Mbps and uplink speed of 5.76Mbps.
