M1 launches easy-to-install 3G broadband USB Modem from Vodafone

 SINGAPORE, 28 November 2006 - M1 will launch an easy-to-install Mobile Connect USB Modem from Vodafone in conjunction with the launch of its HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) service on 6 December 2006. The Modem is exclusive to M1 through its partnership with Vodafone.

The Vodafone Mobile Connect USB Modem allows computers to be easily connected to M1’s new HSDPA network to access the web or e-mail at broadband speeds of up to 3.6Mbps.

The USB Modem is designed so that anyone, regardless of choice of computer, can have broadband access everywhere in Singapore. The Modem simply plugs into a USB 2.0 port on any laptop or desktop computer, self-installs its own connectivity software and automatically connects. This is a simple three-click process that can be done in 60 seconds. The Modem is compatible with both PCs and Mac computer products. At just 8.9 cm in length and weighing less than 50 grams, the USB Modem comes in a sleek design and is the ultimate in portable connectivity.

In addition to the Vodafone Mobile Connect USB Modem, M1 will also launch two other broadband modems to break into the home and office broadband market.

Vodafone Mobile Connect Card
The Vodafone Mobile Connect Card is capable of download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps. This card will be an upgrade of the current 3G data card which is already available in the market.

Vodafone 3G Router
The Vodafone 3G Router will work with the new Vodafone Mobile Connect Card to provide shared Wi-Fi internet connection of up to 3.6Mbps downlink speeds.
